Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G 6nm will outperform Qualcomm 8 series processors

Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G 6nm will outperform Qualcomm 8 series processors

Qualocomm Snapdragon 875, and Snapdragon 875G

Qualcomm, MediaTek, Samsung and Huawei are the largest chip brands along with TSMC has been fully concentrated in the recent year in developing high-end and powerful processors for smartphones with 7nm process. However, they are already started the works in developing a 5nm Chip and will soon go for mass production which is seen on Apple AUR Bionic, Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 and Huwawei's Kirin 9000 and may be also in Samsung's Exynos 1000 CPU.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G 6nm will outperform Qualcomm 8 series processors

However, Ronald Quadnt who is a well known technology enthusiast and a tipster, revealed that the upcoming top-end 5nm built Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 CPU is codenamed as 'Lahaina' (it's actually a place in Hawaiian Islands) and the plus model, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 Plus (Snapdragon 875G) will be codenamed as 'Lahaina+' which are expected to launch on the first quarter of next year and Xiaomi could be the first smartphone brand to use it according to the recent rumors.

However, this latest Qualcomm's Snapdragon 875 CPU will be developed using Samsung's 5nm EUV technology, and if we compare it with the 7nm EUV process we will see major improvements like 10% more performance boost, 20% more lower power consumption and 25% higher logical area efficiency and it will be based on the Cortex-X1 mega-core and again increases the performance.

According to sources, the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 875G chip is likely use ARM Cortex-X1 core + 3×Cortex-A78 + 4×Cortex-A55 core, paired with the X60 5G baseband, and this chip is made based on 5nm architecture to get nearly 25% of more space and increase the performance boost for more than 20% and power efficiency.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G

Coming to the main point, Some of the sources are mentioning that the improved Snapdragon 775G CPU is codenamed SM7350 and is called as Cedros internally. It will be announce next year first quarter and not in the december this year for some reasons.

The Snapdragon 775G will be built on 6nm technology unlike the 7nm process its predecessor Snapdragon 765G. The new Snapdragon 775G will have some relation with the Snapdragon 875G, as the Snapdragon 775G could support for 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and upto 256GB of UFS 3.1 memory support and also a support for 120Hz refresh rate, which could be called as a lower flagship CPU than a mid-range CPU.

So, the upcoming Snapdragon 775 will be the most powerful Chipset in the mid-range segment and should give an amazing performance than the current Snapdragon 765G CPU. From above these specifications, rumors suggest that this CPU could outperform the Qualcomm flagship 855 CPU and even the Snapdragon 865 CPU as well, but we will have to wait for the launch of this processor in a smartphone.
