Qualcomm is preparing new surprises
According to a reliable tipster DigitalChatStation, the Qualcomm is working on a chipaet which is going to be manufactured by TSMC using a 7nm process which we have already seen on Snapdragon 865 CPU's.
This new processor will use powerful Cortex-A77 and Cortex-A55 processor cores. And according to the leaks, this newly developed chip will be more powerful than the present Snapdragon 865+, but is not as powerful as the upcoming successor Snapdragon 875.
After using 7nm process technology for the Snapdragon 865, Qualcomm should use 5nm process to manufacture the Snapdragon 875 process. According to the source, the new upcoming Snapdragon 875 processor is codenamed 'Lahaina'. In addition, the manufacturer is developing two models: the SM8350 for 'Lahaina' and the SM8350AB for 'Lahaina Pro'.
These CPU's will have different processor core configurations. Only Lahaina Pro the top-end processor will pack the latest Cortex X1 core, which will provide a little higher performance, and also thr improved GPU than the non-pro Lahaina.
The processor making giant Qualcomm is expected to announce new items before the end of this year. However Samsung will launch the Exynos 1000 CPU to strongly compete with this new Qualcomm 875 CPU with many upgrades in performance.
