Prior to the announcement of Ampere, such a card was planned for $600.
Two days ago, Nvidia began a new battle in the discrete graphics market with the impressive GeForce RTX 3090, RTX 3080 and RTX 3070. Suddenly they were cheaper than everyone thought, except, of course, the older model.
"They [AMD] want to release the 16GB at $599 and the 8GB at $499 but after the Ampere announcement I'm expecting $549 for the 16GB and $499 for the 8GB. We're receiving the ASIC (GPU+MEM) this month [September]" - AMD partner pic.twitter.com/tLd6Fe36Or

AMD should give its answer soon, and we don't know yet what it will do. But today a message has appeared on the Web about some of the company's new products. The source, citing an unnamed manufacturer of 3D cards, said that some model is being prepared for release, which was originally going to be released with 8GB for $500 and with 16GB for $600, but this manufacturer believes that now AMD will have to adjust price, and the older version will cost $550. We are almost certainly talking about the same model, just with a different amount of memory. The question is what kind of video card it will be.
If you focus on the prices of new Nvidia products, it turns out that this is not a top model, because it will have to compete with the GeForce RTX 3070. But it is not a fact that AMD has something more productive, so the intrigue remains.
