Qualcomm is preparing a budget SoC of the Snapdragon 400 line with support for 5G connectivity
It will be released early next year.

At the moment, the most affordable 5G-enabled Qualcomm platform is the Snapdragon 690 CPU. This is a new SoC that has not yet hit the market, so we do not yet know in what price segment smartphones based on it will play. But they will definitely be more affordable than models based on Snapdragon 765G.

However, MediaTek has a much larger range of budget 5G SoCs, so Qualcomm needs to release something even more affordable. And that something will be the platform (or platforms) of the Snapdragon 400 line.

Qualcomm announced that such a SoC will be released in the first quarter of 2021, while it is announced clearly earlier. Quite possibly in the near future. Unfortunately, there is no data on it yet.

Qualcomm did not share any type of details on the specifications of the new upcoming Snapdragon 4-series chip with 5G support. So, there are no details whether the chipset will support only sub-6GHz 5G networks or it will come with mmWave network connectivity which will be known in the upcoming days.
