MediaTek market shares are rising rapidly, while the Qualcomm market shares are falling day-by-day
If we see the reports in the sales of the choosers of two giant chip makers in the world in global market, 29% goes to the Qualcomm sitting on top of the list and just below this sits MediaTek with 26% market share. And this is not a great number difference and it's almost same.
However in the previous year we have seen Qualcomm dominated with 33% market share with MediaTek remained to achieve just 24% market share in the global market.
And according to these numbers we never expected that MediaTek will come close to the Qualcomm market share in the chip market. And this is may be because of the Dimensity series launched by MediaTek competing with Qualcomm chips which are 5G based and are much cheaper than Qualcomm. So, in the upcoming years we can easily say that MediaTek could overtake Qualcomm in the chip market as the markets share falls of Qualcomm and rise of MediaTek.
Moreover, Huawei's HiSilicon processor sits at third position holding a global market share of 16% with an increase of 4% to the kast years 12% market share. Surprisingly China holds nearly 40% of market share to the Kirin Chipset which is equal to both MediaTek and Qualcomm combined. However in other markets, the market share of the Kirin CPU is almost negligible.
Unfortunately, the market share of the Kirin chips are about to decrease as lots of countries are banning the Huawei products and hence chips manufacturing could also be reduced and we may see a fall shares in the global market.
