We have been learning about the much awaited OnePlus 9 series phones these days, and have also seen the high-quality renders of these models.
But recent leaks confirms that there will be an affordable flagship phone in its 9 series alongside the OnePlus 9 standard and pro models and that will be named as 'OnePlus 9E'.
This information was leaked by Max J. through his tweet/blog and it shows a new model other that 9 and 9 Pro, which is 9E. It is placed in between top and base models, so the phone could have upper than base variant features and lower than pro model features.
We have seen that the latest launched iPhone 12 series phones, that included a mini model making it the most affordable iPhone in the whole 12 series with compact design and decent specifications.
Similarly, OnePlus is also trying to include an affordable model that consisting decent specs. And it will gonna compete against iPhone 12 mini and Samsung Galaxy Fan Edition phones.
OnePlus already have the Nord series for the mid-range phones, so this OnePlus 9E model will not have mid-range specs and will surely include Snapdragon 875 processor as OnePlus 9 models are for the flagship series and not for the mid-range phones.
As per the rumors, for cost cutting, OnePlus will use a smaller display, small battery capacity, 30W fast charging and just dual cameras but will have a powerful processor.
The refresh rate will also reduced to 90Hz instead of 120Hz on the OnePlus 9 pro model, which is super fine for me as 90H is more than enough for any user rather than opting 120Hz refresh rate screen.
So, we don't have much information regarding this phone till now, but the price will be much lower for this model than other OnePlus 9 models.
